Over the years of running Pareusi and supplying some rather well known restaurants with some darn right beautiful kitchenware, we have been blessed to of met, some truly inspiring chefs and cooks along the way.
With all of the support we have received from these passionate chefs and next level home cooks, we thought we would show some love and share with you our top 5 list of up and coming chefs within the UK food scene.
1) Chef Tom Bennetts- As this is the first edition of this new blog series, we had to start with this passionate and driven gentleman. The reason being, is that Dan was working along side him in the kitchens during the early stages of Pareusi and got to test out many prototypes along with giving us rather honest feedback.
Tom has worked in some incredible places around Cornwall, one of them being Rick steins.
He is incredibly driven and has also made it to the semi finals of southwest chef of the year on multiple occasions. He is Currently working a the Driftwood spars in St.Agnes as head chef, where he works closely with his team to produce some truly outstanding dishes.
2) Jude Kereama - A bundle of enthusiastic joy, Jude has become a good friend of ours over the years and has always shown support in what we are trying to achieve. We even created a knife for him when he Competed on the BBC's Great British menu and won.
If you speak to anyone about the food scene in Cornwall, this mans name will, without doubt pop up, often followed by "he's an absolute legend" in which we most Certainly agree with.
Jude is the owner of Kota and Kota Kai in Porthleven. Kota also holds 3 AA rosettes and has the most sensatinoal taster menus, along with an extremely delicious wine list. If you attend a food festival in this beautiful county, then Jude will most definitely be involved.
3) Andrew Tuck -
Fire, smoke and utter deliciousness is what this chap is known for. Andy is a great guy and unbelivably knowlegable about all things wood fired cooking. That combined with his background of fine dining, makes is skill set uttterly ridiculous. You will find Andy at Adam Handlings tartan fox and at many of the uk's top food festivals.
You may also recognise him from the BBCs Great British Menu, where he created some awesome dishes that blew the judges away and lead to his inbox blowing up with requests for the recipes.
4) Joe Rozier -
Hard working and fueled by his passion for cooking, Joe is the chef director at the Mariners by Paul Ainsworth. After first starting his journey with the Ainsworth collection over 9 years ago, Joe has really created a buzz, by serving out some remarkable food and has even started a viral trend F.R.O.T.P (first roast on the pass) We guarantee that once you have consumed all of the deliciousness that their Sunday roast provides, you will understand exactly why they are so popular.
5) Tom Hannon - This man has a passion for creating culinary experiences that is so intense it's contagious. The second you have a conversation about food and hospitality, you see the enthusiasm he has for it shining out. Tom and his wife Katie own the Rising Sun in Truro, which ticks every box with regards to the perfect dining experience.
Said boxes being...Unbelievable wines and whiskey's, beautifully paired flavours on each dish and an incredibly warm and cosy atmosphere. this place is literally The perfect pub.
Tom has been making waves within the culinary industry and is proudly flying the flag for the Cornish food scene. Expect to see him at pretty much every food festival in this rather splendid county.
