When we host our knife making experience days, we are often asked for recommendations on where to eat, so we thought we would give you a list our 6 Best restaurants in Cornwall as well as some truly wonderful places to stay while your in the beautiful county of Cornwall.

1) The rising sun, Truro, Next level elegant gastro pub

Run by our good friends Tom and Katie Hannon, The rising sun serves incredibly delicious food that is presented beautifully and cooked with such love and passion. you will also notice the minute you walk in the door that they most certainly care about the smallest of details and if you order a steak you may very well be blessed with a choice of one of our steak knives.

If your looking for fine dining but with more of a relaxed vibe this will suit you splendidly, its also close to Truro city centre where there is plenty of great shops and also home to the Hall for Cornwall where they hold a variety of shows including live music, comedians and plays.

2) Any of Paul Ainsworth's restaurants. Padstow

We have been lucky enough to eat at all to his restaurants which include No6, The Mariners and Rojanos, all of which are honestly incredible.

If you want to sample some incredibly refined flavours which are presented like pieces of art then No6 is the one for you, its classy, elegant and the attention to detail is next level which is why they have a very well deserved Michelin star.

For those who love the flavours of Italy then a trip to Rojanos is a must. Great pizza, pasta and even ice cream with some delicious toppings that's perfect on a warm summers day in cornwall.

Love a good pub? The mariners in rock serves classic pub dishes with a flavour packed twist and its views over rock and Padstow are incredible.

3) Restaurant Emily Scott. Watergate bay, Newquay

Perched right above the beautiful Watergate bay beach, restaurant Emily Scott serves beautifully cooked fresh tasting dishes and has such a relaxed vibe that it would put a raging bull in a state of zen.

We had the lobster and champagne lunch that honestly put a smile on my face for hours after.

the views, service and attention to detail were exceptional and we cannot recommend this coastal delight enough.

4) The Driftwood spars St.Agnes

Based just yards from St.Agnes beach The Driftwood spars has an abundance of character and is truly a proper Cornish pub with a rich history.

They have award winning beers and ales that are brewed on site and the food consists of the classics like fish and chips, Cornish mussels and good quality steak and chips, but for those who want to be a bit more adventurous the specials are a must.

They also hold their very popular comedy nights featuring some big named acts, interactive dining experiences and lots of live music.

If your looking for somewhere to stay while your down for your knife making experience day they also have some lovely room available and what makes it even better is its only 5 minutes from our workshop.

5) The Peterville inn. St.Agnes

What a pub. The Peterville serves some incredible food that's presented beautifully and always cooked well. This place is seriously getting a good name for itself and has even had a good review from our good mate and celebrity chef Francesco Mazzei

6) The ugly butterfly St.Ives

The ugly butterfly by Adam Handling is ridiculous. There is a lot to say about this gem but we will try to keep it short.

from the moment you walk in you will be blown away by the lounge/entrance hall and the selection of exquisite alcoholic beverages available, it just oozes with class.

From any table you sit on the views of the bay are as David Attenborough would say "majestic" this then complimented with which ever tasting menu you choose will make your experience a most memorable one to say the least.

If you really want to make a trip of you can always book A room at the incredibly stylish carbis bay hotel.

I hope this gives you a few ideas of places to visit when you are next down. I will also create another list of restaurants for you in the coming weeks as we are blessed in Cornwall to have so many great establishments to dine at.

If you have any recommendations for us to try please leave them in the comments below and remember if you can, to leave reviews of any you are lucky enough to go to or even post about your experience on social media as this really helps these wonderful places thrive.
