5 reasons why the cornish food scene is one of the best in the world.+

cornwall is fast becoming one of the most iconic foodie destinations in the world and we are incredibly proud of all of those who are constantly pushing to uphold such an incredible reputation.

here are 5 reasons why we think cornwall has one of the best food scenes in the world.

1) the incredible restaurant scene

Over the past few years there have been some incredible restaurants popping up all over, some are in quaint little fishing villages by the sea like no6 in padstow, some are hidden tucked away amongst the old granite buildings and windy narrow streets like the wheal house in falmouth and some are nestled high upon the cliffs with spectacular views of the rugged coastline like the scarlet hotel and restaurant whatever location you choose there is always something delicious to be consumed,

2)The ingredients

Cornwall's supply of fresh ingredients is beyond belief, known mainly for its amazing seafood such as mackerel, oysters and bass the quality is next level with lots of it being distributed all over the world, we then have beautiful cornish vineyards such a camel valley where some of the most exquisite wine is produced then also in the same area we have the likes of Padstow kitchen garden who grow some truly fresh and vibrant fruit and veg which is used in some of the UK's best restaurants.

3) chefs

In cornwall we are incredibly lucky to have such talented and passionate chefs, being aware of the goods cornwall has to offer when it comes to ingredients all cornish chefs have the utmost respect when it comes to cooking and preparing them and have an encyclopaedic knowledge of seasonalities, once you start a conversation with a chef about this subject your mind will be blown and so will your tastebuds.

4) Artisans

Wherever you are in cornwall we can guarantee there is a dedicated artisan creating something beautiful for the table or kitchen, cornwall has been known for its crafts for many years and the scene is only getting stronger, from incredible potters spinning elegantly rustic works of art to the finest of charcuteries like the award winning duchy charcuterie in Redruth. whatever you're looking for to make your at home dining experience that little bit more special you will be sure to find it in cornwall.

5)We are a friendly bunch

Which ever hotel or restaurant you pop into you will always be greeted with a smile, weather thats from the waitress/waiter serving you or a local legend you might of bumped into, if you walk around with respect for the residents and staff you will without doubt be warmly embraced and shortly after end up in an in depth conversation about where the best pastys are which is an incredibly important thing to know.

these are our 5 reasons but would yours be the same?
